Alexander P. Moya, MD has once again been invited to present at The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) Aesthetic Meeting 2018 in New York City. This annual meeting offers opportunities for learning about innovative technologies and groundbreaking advances, allows for continuing education, and grants members the opportunity to engage with those equally passionate about their profession. ASAPS membership requires a plastic surgeon to regularly attend continuing medical education courses, perform a specified amount of aesthetic plastic surgery procedures, and to adhere to a code of ethics. Dr. Moya’s course entitled “The Corset Body Lift: The Art of Waistline Shaping in the Massive Weight Loss Patient” will focus on this incredible procedure created by Dr. Moya for his weight loss patients in 2006 which provides a beautifully-contoured and sculpted waistline.
Course description: The Corset Body Lift (Corset Trunkplasty) is a comprehensive approach to trunk contouring following massive weight loss with particular attention to creating an aesthetically pleasing (hourglass) waistline. The procedure was developed as a single-stage, single-position technique to address the multi-dimensional skin redundancy (with or without complex skin rolls) routinely found in patients who have lost significant weight. In order to maximize body shape in these patients, excess skin needs to be removed in more than one direction (vertical and horizontal), which can be easily performed by utilizing a simple tailor-tacking marking technique and direct closure of wounds without undermining.
Dr. Moya has had the privilege of teaching his surgical techniques to his colleagues as an invited speaker, panelist, and course instructor at many plastic surgery symposiums over the years, and enjoys sharing not only his knowledge but his enthusiasm for helping his patients.

Alexander P. Moya, MD has been invited to Plastic Surgery The Meeting 2017 (the American Society of Plastic Surgeons® annual meeting) as a panelist for a continuing medical education session on major weight loss surgery, titled Major Weight Loss Patient: An A-Z Deep-Dive. Member surgeons of the ASPS will have the opportunity to gain insights into treatments for patients undergoing body contouring surgery after weight loss from experts like Dr. Moya and his fellow panelists during the three-hour session.
From the ASPS: “This session will focus on innovative truncal reshaping procedures after major massive weight loss. It will provide insight into different approaches for similar problems. It will encompass all major areas of the trunk including extremity, breast, and buttocks. Emphasis will be on patient selection, techniques, pitfalls, suboptimal results, and patient safety.”
Dr. Moya has had the privilege of presenting at numerous plastic surgery symposiums over the years, focusing his attention primarily on The Corset Body Lift®. Created for his weight loss patients in 2006, The Corset Body Lift® is a life-changing abdominal and waistline contouring procedure. Unlike other body contouring procedures that direct their focus on the lower abdomen, The Corset Body Lift® targets and reshapes the entire abdomen (above and below the belly button). It also enhances the waistline by directly addressing loose skin below the breasts/chest (including “bra-line” skin along the sides and back) as well as the hips. Dr. Moya’s trademarked procedure can be customized for each patient to provide a beautiful hourglass silhouette in women and full-length tapered torso in men.

Alexander P. Moya, M.D. has been invited to present at this year’s Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America’s “Making a Difference” meeting. This is also an opportunity for weight loss patients to meet and learn from a variety of professionals and specialists, as well as vendors of specialized products, such as nutritional supplements.
“Making a Difference” will take place May 19-21 at the Hilton Hotel in Portland, Oregon, and is expected to the be the largest gathering of weight loss surgery patients ever assembled.
As one of several sponsors of this event, Dr. Moya and Lewisburg Plastic Surgery are also directly helping the cause.

Blogger Melissa Chapman offers relationship advice and receives many letters from readers asking for her expertise. As recounted in a post on Smart Beauty Guide, Chapman shares the story of one such letter writer who had recently lost a dramatic amount of weight and was dealing with the embarrassment of extra skin. Perhaps previously unaware of the challenges that face people after major weight loss, Chapman investigated various treatments and found the Corset Body Lift®.
Apparently, most patients who undergo massive weight loss end up having to contend with the extra skin – yet another hurdle they need to face when it comes to feeling comfortable in their new bodies. And while this removal can be done in a myriad of different ways, her letter inspired me to do some research and in doing so I came upon a relatively new procedure called The Corset Body Lift which not only removes the excess skin post weight loss, but also contours the body. According, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Alexander P. Moya, The Corset Body Lift is a single-stage procedure that comprehensively addresses multi-dimensional skin redundancy of the abdomen and waistline. – Melissa Chapman,
