New year, New You

New Year’s resolutions are everywhere. We all make them, but most of us don’t keep them. Most resolutions focus on self-improvement. We do in fact want to put our best face and body forward, reflecting the healthy inside on the outside as well, and what better time to do it then at the start of a new year? Well if that’s the case, how can seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon help?

Surgical procedures

Liposuction – It can be very frustrating – you exercise regularly, you do your best to eat healthy, and you just can’t seem to get rid of those areas of excess fat, the ones that clothing only seems to highlight instead of disguise. If you are looking to refine and rejuvenate your contours, then liposuction may be a good fit for you. Is most effective if you are at or near your target weight (generally within 15% or 25 pounds of it) but have areas that simply don’t respond to diet or exercise.

Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) – Like many things in life, you may never truly appreciate something as simple as a smooth, flat stomach… until you no longer have it. Pregnancy, weight gain and loss, aging – some or all of these things can intervene and change the landscape of your abdomen. Diet and exercise can help reduce the fat on your belly, but you may still be left with excess or sagging skin which, if combined with weak stomach muscles, can give you the appearance of a protruding belly and compromise your self-confidence. A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can remove this excess skin and fat and tighten the abdominal muscles, narrowing the waist and creating an abdominal profile that is smoother, flatter, and tighter.

Facelift – A facelift is a surgical procedure that can help reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and other signs of aging, including sagging in the middle of your face, loss of tone in your lower face (creating jowls), and perhaps a “double chin” even if you are not overweight. While it cannot turn back the hands of time, a facelift can help to provide a more youthful contour to the face and neck, giving you a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) – Excessive sagging or wrinkling of upper or lower eyelid skin can be corrected by having an eyelid lift. A more youthful and rested eye appearance can be achieved and may also widen visual fields if excessive upper eyelid skin causes partially blocked vision.

Mommy makeovers – A mommy makeover is performed using a combination of plastic surgery procedures designed to counteract the physical effects of childbearing and restore and enhance your body. Women want and deserve to have their tummies and breasts back to the way they looked before pregnancy. Combined with her specific wishes and realistic available downtime the procedures can include any or all of these body contouring procedures:
-Breast Augmentation
-Breast Lift
-Tummy Tuck
-Liposuction

Nonsurgical cosmetic procedures

CoolSculpting – The CoolSculpting procedure eliminates stubborn fat safely and effectively, without surgery or downtime. This fat reduction treatment is the only FDA-cleared procedure to use controlled cooling to safely target and eliminate diet- and exercise-resistant fat. CoolSculpting results are proven, noticeable, and lasting, so you’ll look and feel great from every angle.

Botox – Botox is a quick and effective remedy that can temporarily diminish or eliminate facial lines and wrinkles that age, stress, worry, and environmental factors can produce. Botox treatment can smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, on your forehead, between your eyes, and at the base of your nose, and wrinkles at the corners of your eyes (“crow’s feet”) fade or may even disappear.

Fillers – Dermal fillers can bring new life to tired eyes, plump and lift the cheeks, reduce or even eliminate smile and marionette lines, and be injected into thin lips for added fullness. Soft tissue fillers can provide a smoother and more youthful look, with virtually no downtime or need for recovery. They can also be used as an adjunct to facial rejuvenation surgery. Treatment takes about 30 minutes with instant results lasting anywhere between six months to several years (depending on which filler is used).

Together we can help determine the most appropriate and safest way to reaching your personal goals for 2021!
